The S&P/TSX Composite Index took a dive in August. The main index for the Canadian stock market dropped 4.2% or 609 points for the month, closing at 13,859. Concerns about a potential slowdown in China and stubbornly low oil prices seemed to be shaking the confidence of Canadian investors.
